E-40 is more relevant in terms of current sales success probably, haven't checked the numbers but E-40 is active but in terms of Hip Hop overall Rakim and KRS-One will always be more relevant because while E-40 is a legend they are on a whole other bracket of legend and status and quality within Hip Hop. So they will always be above him, but currently he will probably make records with more commercial success.

Rakim and KRS have been musically irrelevant since about 1998.

KRS-One and Rakim are hugely relevant, KRS-One is booked all around the world on a regular, he's touring almost constantly. He's getting money on a regular basis and has been for decades. KRS-One and Rakim are living legends, like saying MJ and Prince weren't relevant cause some singer sold more than 1 of their later albums. Legends are always relevant because they earned their status.

Let's be honest about some of these rappers who make a living off touring small venues overseas, that has a lot more to do with being the only places that will book them than it does with them being "global hip hop ambassadors". There's a huge difference between Snoop playing in front of thousands of people in Brazil and KRS-1 playing in front of 300 people at a German nightclub.
