I'm speaking in general, plus I know that's not true, you only have an idea about yourself. Artists like KRS-One are touring constantly and are reaching new people all the time. A lot of you dudes are disconnected from the reality because stuck in your own bubble. To say they are the most popular rappers with children obviously wouldn't be true, but I know a bunch of younger people that fukk with them and like their music, even some where KRS is their favourite rapper. KRS is still able to tour make money, that's all that matters to him in that regard. He has songs on YouTube with over 23 million views, those aren't all people within the same age bracket. He's good and he's lasted longer doing well than most others could ever dream of.

Let's be honest about some of these rappers who make a living off touring small venues overseas, that has a lot more to do with being the only places that will book them than it does with them being "global hip hop ambassadors". There's a huge difference between Snoop playing in front of thousands of people in Brazil and KRS-1 playing in front of 300 people at a German nightclub.

You're wrong and don't know what you're talking about. KRS has done all types of shows, from the small venues to absolutely huge venues with 1000's of people. I actually made a thread on here ages ago when somebody tried to say the same thing with mad videos as proof.

so digital underground dropped too late for you to consider them pioneers, but e-40 who didn't get a national platform until YEARS after digital underground, is considered a pioneer tho right?

and like I said, you don't have to be an early flag-bearer to be considered a pioneer if you help take the scene to new heights. digital underground did that and reached audiences that shunned hammer & too short.
