So Cal
Quavo the only guest on the track? :dwillhuh:

I get it, You want E-40 to get his props. I get it.
You right but Roddy and quavo got a hook. 40 has been a schoolboy q albums. This is one song, a single at that.

Look at the album tracklist. Methodman and redman? Scarface? Fab and red Cafe? :whew: that's who the youngings wanna hear.

What 40 is doing will never be done again. Be 52 and have the hottest rappers in the game fukking with you heavy. Breh had an album out every year since 86....unbelievable.

Relevant? E-40 is more relevant because he’s active. When you're out here as much as he is, you’re gonna draw rappers from all generations to you. It’s like Snoop. He’s relevant because he’s still making music, featuring on everyone’s songs and being around.

More legendary is a different discussion but E-40 is relevant. As legendary as Rakim and Krs-One are, they’re not active. That’s one aspect of their careers E-40 has em beat at. Longevity matters and it’s longevity where the industry still checks for him. I fukks with KRS but I don’t feel like history is being kind to him the older we get.

KRS-One is dope...but so was Kane. Them dudes was just on the scene at the right time but couldn't adjust to the movement. More Unsung victims of gangsta rap I guess :jawalrus:

Them Lo Lifes...
He's a slang pioneer how about that. He put bay area slang on the map. He also put Vallejo on the map.
Next to Hammer, who else in the early 90s got a million dollar record deal as an artist AND distribution deal?

Shyt name ANY INDIE artist in the early pre 94' to get a million dollar deal. @Homeboy Runny-Ray

You will never see KRS or Rakim do a Tell Me When to Go.

Nothing sadder to me than seeing these old rappers trying to fit in with current trends in hopes to stay relevant.

KRS ONE
or Rakim will always rep hip-hop in it's purist form. That's why I call them ambassadors.

say word you ain't rock wit tell me when to go.. i thought it was crazy personally. that nikka keak spazzed on that for real. anyway what did you think of the u and dat booty joint with the autotune gawd t-pain, same? on some wave riding shyt?

now to play devil's advocate here at the bolded. the teacher did do the step into the world remix with puffy back in '97 much to the chagrin of mad hip hop heads. not me though, i fukked with it heavy. straight tunnel banger, lyrical as fukk (of course) and without question most definitely trendy. feelings on that? talk to me my G

I get it, You want E-40 to get his props. I get it.

But there have always been sub-markets in hip-hop. It's just the truth.
