For your first part, you already know what it is. These songs are made to just get air-play.

They serve their purpose, get people into the club, get people to the show, make money off of the them and you never play the song again.

For your second, not much to say. The original smashes the remix. There was no wave riding on KRS' part. If anything, it helped Diddy get back some credibility for selling out.

If we went song for song being played in pop culture, I wouldn't have to go any further then paid in full.

Rakim IMDb has 48 Credits just from Soundtracks.....


Not saying E40 is not loved, cherished on the West Coast etc. The question is relevancy...... I charge you to check out many people outside of the West Coast, including rappers who have E40 in their top 5.... Top 10... You know what Top 25.... Know The Ledge not considered his masterpiece and it has been used in shows like American Dad to movies EA games. Coming to America, Cloverfield, Luke Cage, Etc.....
Im not saying E-40 is not influential but :patrice:we can not be serious...

Quiet as kept KRS was one of the early architects of Gangsta rap.... Then moved into more educational Rap Scott La Rock got murdered...

Rakim essentially created a style that changed hip hop... Its kinda like before Rakim in hip hop then after Rakim....

Im not sure why people are adding personal favorites into this conversation (Not saying you), but I think E40 had more of a regional influence

We can agree to disagree on that. They don't have more sales, they don't have more longevity, they aren't revered more by the youth today. They don't receive more love outside of the tri-state area but besides those important factors of relevancy....:manny:
