Even if you take out the battle category it would be a tie, but I would still choose canibus over redman. BTW canibus renegaded redman twice, once on 4321, and another time on Beast from the east (with a CRAZY verse).

They're both dope spitters but Redman has a better discography IMO and is more well rounded

If you ignore the fact that Thought doesn't have any solo albums, then he has a great discography. Widely considered to have no bad albums

I mean for all intents and purposes, those Roots albums are BT solos. He's pretty much the main/only rapper on those albums with a vast production team behind him. It's just the namesake that makes us think otherwise. BT would be in my top 30-35 no doubt. I just think the Roots are overrated slightly. Redman is another league. Don't care about Canibus even though he's a lyrical assassin.

Thought is in my top 5 so he's > Redman to me. Malik B was on the first 3 (4 if you count Organix) in a secondary role. There was plenty of songs of just Thought.

After that, he was basically a solo rapper with a lot of guest appearances. All their albums are quality and he's never came weak.

Neither Thought or Redman has ever spit a wack verse.

Agree with what you said but I think Black Thought is a GOAT contender and in my personal top 15. Only thing that's really holding him back is that I don't enjoy him as much as many pants do. I can't really argue him against top 10 tbh. Albums like Things Fall Apart were very well produced that gets a spot in my top 50.

Probably the most talented MC of all-time. Can rap over any beat, using any flow, with crazy lyricism and technical ability. Longevity. Discography. Mic skills. Relevancy. He has it all.

Dare Iz a Darkside was the birth of the eccentric Redman. He turned the dial all the way up.
