Forreal though, his whole Slim Shady persona was obviously coached by industry folks. Em sounded like a bootleg AZ on Infinite. He wanted to be respected as a rapper’s rapper and taken seriously like Nas. But record company people saw Adam Sandler and Weird Al doing real numbers going plat off the strength of goofy middle schooler humor.

The very fact all the young Detroit rappers hate Em proves he’s a fraud. The D don’t claim him.

The point was that when 99% of people became aware of who he was; he had already adopted Freeway's moniker of "RICK ROSS".



Nobody en masse has ever heard him rap as "Willow". So that doesn't matter.



He didn't cultivate a career as Willow. People only came to know him after he became "RICK ROSS".
