Is Rip The Jacker the last universally accepted classic solo album with no guest appearances??

I feel you @Farrinto ...that album was on some other shyt, could've been a dope concept record, but he had to go on some Stan bullshyt instead

:snoop:

I didn't even finish listening to it and never have :mjlol: All I remember was that he had a Jay-Z diss on there and some skit where he was rapping about yellow teeth or some shyt.

@smokeurobinson

^ Nikka its 5 positive replies and 4 negative

Hardly what you'd consider "universal" :sas2:

:mindblown:

Reading comprehension.

Fool...I'm not talking about the replies in this thread making the album a classic...I'm talking about the reviews this album has had within the past 13 years.

Peep how we are now on the 2nd page and so far the talk has been on wether or not RTJ is a classic...

....Yet not one person has posted an album that falls in said category.

As far as I'm concerned....The title in the OP must be true because not one person has yet to post a more recent album that falls in said category.

Canibus

HRSMN (Canibus with Killah Priest, Kurupt & Ras Kass)

The Undergods (Canibus with Keith Murray)

  • Canibus & Keith Murray are The Undergods (2009)
  • In Gods We Trust – Crush Microphones to Dust (2011)
Other collaborations

Bolded are all good - great albums.

So the verdict is in.

RTJ is the last universally accepted classic.

I thought someone would atleast come in here and post this album

..This could have been a decent debate due to the fact that it came out after RTJ and the word "classic" has been thrown in its direction.

When you really stop and think about it. There arent too many "universally accepted classic" solos with no guest appearances.

I find I have to reach and go into groups with one solo rapper

Keep in mind, I said "universally accepted classic" not personal classic. "universally accepted classic" albums are albums that the Hip Hop collective have concluded is a classic, albums such as "The Chronic", "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx" and "College Dropout" fall in such category. Rip The Jacker is Canibus' universally accepted classic.

This is the last album that I can think of that accomplishes the feat of being a universally accepted classic with no guest appearances.
Not only is this not a classic, but its in the conversation for top 10 worst albums ever.... All genres..

Rip the jacker wasn't even Canibus's best solo album, the one before it (Mic Club) was much better
