Keep in mind, I said "universally accepted classic" not personal classic. "universally accepted classic" albums are albums that the Hip Hop collective have concluded is a classic, albums such as "The Chronic", "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx" and "College Dropout" fall in such category. Rip The Jacker is Canibus' universally accepted classic.

This is the last album that I can think of that accomplishes the feat of being a universally accepted classic with no guest appearances.

since when? :laff:

Apart from poet laureate II I don't really like this project...

Mic Club Curriculum is my favourite Bis album

I liked Mic Club too. Underrated.

Explain to me how it is even possible for Canibus to have a "universally accepted classic album" when most people dont care for his existence? This entire new era of hip hop fans probably couldnt name a Canibus song or point him out of a crowd if you had a gun to their head. You can think this is a classic all you want but it damn sure isnt accepted by everyone. For something to be universally accepted it first has to be KNOWN to the masses and accepted.

Canibus was J Cole's biggest influence. He also influenced Kendrick Lamar and a host of others.

Hands down his best album. An underground classic, sure. Don't know about "universally accepted" classic.

Album classic, not sure if it's the last 1 with no guest appearances, don't think so. Not sure if there's such a thing as universally accepted nowadays either.

“Universally accepted classic” :dead:

why do yall use terms like "universal classic" for the most random of albums that most people have never even heard of?

Because its considered a classic in the underground. The consensus in the underground says its a classic. Its a universally accepted classic in the underground.

its not even a universally accepted classic in the underground.

the most you can say is its universally accepted in a certain sector of underground hip-hop, amongst the types that consider those masta killa, masta ace & joe budden albums that you listed as classics.
