Guy has had the nastiest post-MVP fall off in recent history. D Rose doesnt count because of the injury history.
Westbrook's injury history doesn't get talked about enough. While he never had as bad of an injury as Rose, he has had some type of knee procedure almost every year since 2013. And to make it worse he always returns faster than expected time needed for recovery.

2018
Since tearing his meniscus back in the 2013 playoffs, this is now the fourth procedure Westbrook has needed on his right knee. Yes, this is "just" an arthroscopic procedure, but that's still not good news for a player who relies so heavily on his athleticism.

2019
[Westbrook] also had a minor procedure on his surgically repaired right knee Tuesday -- described as proactive maintenance -- that will allow him time to still have an aggressive summer of preparation for next season, sources said.

His injuries dont' get talked about because they aren't why he is sucking.

His athletcism is still there.

It's his IQ and shooting that's just horrible. Look at him at the end of the Lakers Thunder game in November 5th. Those mistakes he made have NOTHING to do with athleticsm. It's all poor decision making, carelessness, and inability to reliably shoot the ball outside the paint.

Westbrooks mamba-esque mentality is why I’m a fan, but you’re right he needs to learn his role. Sadly I knew once the athleticism declined so would his game. I thought he would acclimate into a role player well, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

being loud and aggressive ain’t mamba esque. Mamba actually worked on his game. Westbrook’s j has crashed and burned 5 straight years. Ain’t no way you could have a mamba esque type mentally and have a jumpshot like that...

What the hell happened to Westbrooks shooting the out of the control play was tempered by his pull up jumper and good ft shooting.

Russ used to have a great mid range game .... not talking about clutch iso plays in the 4th

his pull up game was great for awhile and right around him leaving OKC it completely fell off, maybe after the last knee injury
he started posting more and using glass too and doing that rock the baby shyt hilariously right when he became more inconsistent

The shooting percentages aren’t there to support this.

The narrative that westbrook has some mamba-esque work ethic needs to stop. This brickhead doesn’t even watch film

I wont personally shyt on you... but if you dont think Russ shot better in OKC than now, then I have no clue what to tell you.
People didnt sag off Russ until he really fell off... dude doesnt shoot FTs at the same clip and hesistates on wide open looks

he shot 82% free throw rating his first 9 seasons ... then fell to 78% ... right now he's shooting 62% and last year he ended at 65%
dunno what more evidence you would need if you watched him play in OKC ... he shoots terrible compared to how he used to be

he doesnt finish at the rim the same, he doesnt dunk the same, free throw, etc
his midrange game is what opened the lanes for him and he cant shoot anymore so nobody cares, they just sag off. Nothing is similar to OKC

And yet only one of them was called "Mr. Unreliable" in the newspaper.....

No one has it easy playing with Westbrook. Swap Westbrook with Lillard, Kyrie or Curry and they likely win.

In terms of not taking criticism in OKC, I don't think any of that matters since KD has taken 200x the criticism in GSW/BK than he ever did in OKC, and yet he still performs at an elite level all the same.
If I'm not mistaken Mr. Unreliable came from a series Westbrook didn't play. But to be the best player KD had a lot of criticism skip him and go to his #2.

His athleticism is still in tact.

Russ has sucked because this is who he always has been, just taken to the next level because the MVP enabled his ego to take over to the highest degree.

I’m talking about his jumper and in the various distances. There isn’t that much of a difference.

Yup, that's how The Coli is though. If they don't like a player, they take a week's worth of (exaggerated) bad play to then try to invalidate the player's whole career. They've been doing the same thing with Dame recently. Over the full course of the season, Russ, and the Lakers overall, will be fine.
Who are you trying to convince here, us or yourself?

:usure:

You're just repeating the same damn line, "they'll be fine", without really going into any detail whatsoever as to why you believe that. Clutching onto your pearls and praying to your Bron Lord God Almighty, Savior, and Redeemer, is only going to end in tears.
