Is scoring actually down in the NBA recently, or is it just rumors?

Reading online that the scoring is actually down because Refs are now holding their whistles and allowing more defense

Sounds like the Commissioner is tired of this NBA All Star game style of play and wants to bring defense back. And probably preparing players for what's going to happen in the playoffs. Anyone have the stats to back up this claim?

I don’t know about all that but they’re a lot better at the biggest skill/fundamental in the game—shooting.

This season has the lowest amount of fouls called per game ever and the 4th lowest FTA rate in the 3-pt era. It doesn’t feel like it when watching games though

Trash basketball is trash basketball, regardless of era. All you need to do to see players are better now is watch a game from the 80s or 90s
