Is scoring actually down in the NBA recently, or is it just rumors?

What is this sentence? :dwillhuh:
There are fewer fouls called today and fewer FTs shot than any time in NBA history. Not only fewer fouls called but fewer fouls per FG attempt.

Not only that, but league average FT% is also the highest it’s ever been.

That makes the FG% and efficiency of today’s era even more impressive.

NBA is going to go through whet the nfl has gone through the last couple of years with the all time offensive numbers tapering off a little. Early/mid 10s nfl had stupid high offensive numbers. Also the NBA is unique in that their social media discussion is probably as big or bigger then their viewership and that all star game and the crazy regular scoring seaon games before it pissed the diehard fans off
The biggest thing going against the nba is most of its viewers and commentators think their basic understanding of basketball is enough.

Boxing has a similar issue. The major difference is boxing analyst are usually former trainers and boxers who actually understand the sport well and can give real insights while with basketball, you can tell Shaq and Barkley don’t even watch games.

They are tryna get the white demographic back. They absolutely love low scoring games. Went to a high school game in Illinois and the teams combined for 7 pts in the 1st qtr and them white dudes gave a standing ovation for both teams
Dog, in these high school games in LV, they changed the rules of basketball. Them nikkas don't even have a shyt clock

Bill Simmons and Russilo talked about it on his Sunday podcast. They said behind the scenes a lot of owners and coaches have been complaining to Silver about it and they made the adjustment after All-Star break

I knew Bill was gonna say this rule change was gonna benefit Miami the most. :russ:

He ain’t lying. :sas2:
