Shaq couldn't be stopped. Hack-a-shaq wasn't that effective but the Jordan rules were. Besides, the NBA let MJ get away with murder throughout the 90's and he got credit too much for some of the things Pippen did for Chicago.

Ya'll boys love talking this MJ is the greatest and I don't see it. I watched the games. I watched all of them. Have all MJ's highlights and of course, he entertain me more than any other NBA player but he's not the greatest. There isn't one and if it was, it would be Wilt, Bill, Kareem, or Tim Duncan.

I'll give you Kareem as possible GOAT but you lost me with wilt, bill and Duncan. and Jordan rules were effective only because the bulls we're still developing as a team. Once the triangle was fully implemented it was over. They couldn't stop Jordan at all they only tried to contain him. He still put up superb numbers.

And Jordan averaged in 1988 against the pistons
Series: 27.4 ppg, 8.8 rpg, and 4.6 apg on 49.1 %FG/54.9 %TS with 3.6 topg in 42.0 mpg

And averaged in 1989 against the pistons

Series: 29.7 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 6.5 apg on 46.0 %FG/56.1 %TS with 3.7 topg in 43.2 mpg

And in 1990 against pistons

Series: 32.1 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 6.3 apg on 46.7 %FG/56.6 %TS with 2.9 topg in 42.3 mpg

In 1991 against pistons

He avg 29.8 ppg 5.3 rpg 7.0 apg on 53%fg

Maybe you need to watch the games again. MJ v. LAL wasn't doing much of anything till they moved Pippen to guard Magic. MJ v. Clyde went back and fore. Drexler ate his ass up too. Sometimes you MJ fans have one way of looking that things. We always knew MJ put up numbers but his impact...

He wasn't protecting the rim. Making other much better. He had Pippen and Phil's system for that. He wasn't consistency doing the small things like Duncan and Russell. Once again, he had Pippen for that. MJ brought the flash while Pippen brought the hard hat. Both were needed but to understate Wilt, Bill, or KAJ is disgraceful. Tim Duncan did all those things. Little things, big things, and it was never just about getting numbers like MJ, it was always about making the winning play. Give me Tim Duncan 10 out of 10 times over Michael Jordan anyday.

The moves of a 7 footer, 300 pound man:banderas:

shaq did things physically... jesus.

look at these scrub ass centers nowadays and how they move. shyt, look at some of the greats.

shaq was one of the most coordinated, fluid human beings i've ever seen. who just happened to be 7ft tall. and bult like a bulldozer. :banderas:

he aint better than jordan tho...:heh:

Jordan was one of the greatest defensive players ever. Excellent rebounder , and passer but you wanna give all the credit to pippen smh. Jordan made champions out of bums , there is no doubt he made other players better. It's funny you give all this praise to all these 7ft centers but won't give credit to the 6ft 6 215 pound guard whose accolades are on par or even better than the guys you mentioned. Jordan against the Lakers finals was one of the greatest finals performances ever. And his other finals performances were just as epic. :camby:

The fact you would take Tim Duncan over Jordan proves my points even more. The same Tim Duncan who got out bested by Kobe Bryant head to head, would have gotten destroyed by a Jordan led Bulls team.

Shaq could have been a better player if he had MJ's mentality and competitiveness

Shaq's problem was he didn't keep himself in good shape and he wasn't fully committed on the defensive end. If he fulfilled his potential, he could have accomplished more than MJ.

Michael Jordan without his height and athleticism was basically scrub status

His work ethic and dedication to the fundamentals made him the second greatest basketball player ever, players like Vince Carter were arguably better natural athletes then MJ

Jordan > Shaq but Shaq was one of the more dominant players I've ever seen. During those Laker years...it just felt *so good* seeing him get the ball in the paint...you knew he was about to stunt.

Not if you was a Kings fan like me.:to:,. But I agree with the dominance Prime shaq was a top 3 most dominant player ever to me. Wilt,Jordan,Shaq as far as dominance goes.
