Some negros I’ve met think fake hair is a black thing. I didn’t/not gonna watch the video

Exaggerated beauty enhancements are lowbrow, but if you don’t actually know that then you do the super obvious stuff and everyone knows that you’re fake. The point of “enhancements” is to make whatever you have naturally, look better. The goal is to look like a natural beauty.
Someone can look at you and say “naw she looks too perfect”, but they shouldn’t be able to clock your work. THAT is when you’ve done it right.
It’s like comparing Cardi B to Ashanti.
Ashanti is literally 12yrs older than Cardi, but if you put them side by side with no make up Ashanti looks better. Do I think Ashanti hasn’t done anything at all in terms of surgery? Naw. I’m positive she’s done a little something. But she looks like herself, just not much older. Cardi, on the other hand, has had obvious work done. It’s not subtle. What’s the point of doing all that if ppl can look at you and pain out the work?
In terms of the hair, yea. White girls are on that heavy and spend just as much, if not more, than we do. But it’s taboo to discuss it because the whole point is to pretend that’s their natural look. These chicks spend like $200-$450 just for
color, let alone whatever extensions they might get, keratin treatments, etc. But they discuss that amongst themselves. It’s not some big movement online.
Ppl make a huge deal about us and the weaves and wigs and all that because we blast this shyt on social media. Girls doing tutorials about gluing wigs down, etc for the world to see. Of course everyone’s going to talk about our hair.
I remember there was a time when brehs were literally staring at hairlines to see if a girl was wearing a wig when starting conversation. I literally had men go “oh that’s your hair”?
That’s when I knew shyt had gone way too far and I said I wouldn’t do that shyt.
