When the fukk did ether, got Urself & one mic turn into great songs?
I can understand someone not liking Ether (Not too fond of the beat myself) or Got Urself, but One Mic?

this..i listened to illmatic the 1st time years ago(in college) to see why do hip hop nerds put it on such a pedestal and was disappointed by it's lack of substance....the beats put me to sleep and half the time I wasn't aware wtf nas was rapping about though I suspect it was the typical NY backpack rap themes(i'm the illest yo, sucker mcs, etc) type ish...where as while i'm not sure I consider it classic stilmatic was solid and atleast was one of the few mainstream rap albums relatively recently to have black conscious message.
I always consider, No Idea's Original and Everybody's crazy Stillmatic songs cause they were bonus tracks on the original version. The Lost Tapes version of No Idea's Original was better though
Yea that's kind of how I feel. It's a 4.5 type of album, and I wouldn't have a problem with people considering it a classic. I just can't say for sure to me, it's close, but I generally try to put the "classic" label on 5/5 type albums.
classics dont have 3 weak songs on them
Rule, BH Party and Got Urself suck. 2 of them had minimal replay in its day, as the years went on they sound terrible. Smokin isnt exactly great itself
IWW>>>>>Stillmatic

and that no idea on losttapes is the alchemist remix. someone else did the original on stillmatic.

I don't consider any of those Pac albums 5/5 personally - those are all 4.5s or so to me. Way too many shytty guest artists imo, and 2 or so tracks I don't like on each. But yea Outkast is definitely very close with their first 3-4 albums.

GTFO.
not even close.
Sex with death, indulge in these women
Vision my own skeleton swimmin
in eternal fire
Broads play with pentagrams in they vagina
Like the Exorcist, then they gave birth to my seeds
I beg for God's help, why they love hurtin me?
Forty-five in my waist, starin at my reflection
In the mirror, sittin still in the chair like my conception
When everything around me got cloudy, the chair became a king's throne
My destiny found me
It was clear why the struggle was so painful
Metamorphosis, this is what I changed to
And God, I'm so thankful

A lot of nikkas with shytty of the wall opinions in this thread.Funny shyt they post them like its fact.
Just two of the shytty opinions. They got to be
.My favorite Nas album.
I never listened to Illmatic. And I never will.
