To me it is. Being given life is a gift itself and no matter the circumstances, its not big enough its worth taking your life over it. Exile yourself from the world if you have to, but its better ways to deal than suicide.
If you kill yourself while someone loves you (like family should) you have taken away one of their loved ones at no one's expense but theirs (assuming we are not taking after life into account). You have erased your pain by passing it to them. You have profited while not caring what your family feels about your actionThat doesn't answer the question I was asking though. How is suicide an act that says "fukk you" to family? Does your personal opinion on whether you want to live not matter?
It's the epitome of a selfish act.
Someone is going to have a life-long scare because of your act. You're not only taking moments away from yourself, but those that invested time in having a relationship with you. You're ignoring everyone else attempts at help, because you think you know more and your solution is better.
9/10 it's an extremely selfish act. Death is never the answer, Love is always.
I cannot comprehend what he was feeling. But the very fact he has two small children who will now grow up fatherless makes me feel some type of way about him doing it. The new born won't know any different because they don't really have a memory, but the 2 year old? Can you imagine dude's wife having to tell the 2 year old that he will never see his father again? Then guess what? His two children will live a life where they will always feel a void because their father is gone, and most likely will become depressed themselves. shyt is all fukked. If he has a mental illness how the fukk can you even think to blame him or even comprehend what he was going through to even suggest his decision was selfish?

Love isn't always the answer, they have found genetic links to suicidal behavior, try "love" with a person that is clinically depressed and comes from a family in which multiple relatives have killed themselves. There was a documentary on HBO years ago about a kid that came from a family like that and he had his first suicidal thoughts at like 5 years old, he was loved, didn't matter.
Selfish is wanting someone else to live even when they're miserable with their existence![]()
We may have a philosophical difference of opinion.
Love is ALWAYS the answer. The interesting thing is, people don't know how to love like they think they do.
...Besides...seeking love OUTSIDE the self...will only get you so far. You really have to look within.
We do have a philosophical difference, no amount of love is going to change your genetic markers and what you're predisposed to doing. There are alcoholics in my family and I don't drink as a result, but how is someone who comes from a family where people are prone to suicide supposed to love their way out of that?
Not everyone is running the same operating system upstairs, some people are just prone to killing themselves because they are miserable at the fact that they are alive (not those corny Emo kids either).
I just personally think those are excuses. Each one of us have what we need to overcome. The conditioning society has undergone doesn't help this fact be seen any easier, but it's there
Unfortunately I don't have any data backing my beliefs, just experience.
They aren't excuses when they have legitimately found a genetic link for it -

Johns Hopkins Team Identifies Genetic Link To Attempted Suicide - 03/28/2011
People were killing themselves thousands of years ago, you can't blame it on society today when it's always been aroundI've never been suicidal, but I'm not going to judge people who have killed themselves because I'm not in their head, what drives me for certain things may be driving them to kill themselves. What I do know is that no two brains work the same.
