the obvious "better" countries are not good for the brothaman :yeshrug:
Imagine my black ass being dismayed that some of the places that align with things I want are ultra-white scandanavian countries :francis:

Universal healthcare, low pollution, more intelligently designed cities...it is depressing.

Let’s not act like these same “cac” jobs you are talking about didn’t hold down the black family for decades. Manufacturing, trades, government jobs were the backbones for black families back in the day
Right there was clearly a black American dream and we saw it on all those family sitcoms and it encompassed the same things home ownership, nuclear families, HBCU educations, etc.

There’s plenty of black families that have achieved this. Black families still eating off government and city jobs and trades. Tech and outsourcing killed manufacturing.

What is the American dream?
Is it that same dream that cacs try to convince to black people that "we all equals", but systematically (the bullshyt system THEY created) shows something totally different?
Is it that same dream that cacs wouldn't mind sharing with immigrants, but won't help the poor and homeless people in their own backyard?
Is it that same dream where cacs won't get charged for hate crimes and always getting off with a slap on the wrist, while black people get charged for simply defending ourselves?
I gotta know what's the American dream.

I dunno. While quite a few folks are hording properties, I guarantee you somebody is moving into these 1400 studio(s). So somebody out here is doing well
A $1400/mo studio isn't an indication someone is doing well.
American dream was based on the idea that the average person could build a life, start a family, find decent paying middle class jobs without a college degree and buy a house.

Gen Z and millennials struggles to do any of that so I’d say yeah it’s dead :manny:
This is the correct definition, and with this said, brehs in here gotta stop saying the American Dream never existed for black people.

Depends on your perspective. Started dying in the 80's, was dead in 2008. If you're black, it never really was there.

This is a good take.

I used to think you’re part of the basement dwelling & shift-working peasants a la Langley rats wannabe brigade, who always want to bully everyone into ‘Murikkka is the greatest & is always right’ perspective. However, after reading some of your takes on certain topics - you’re more balanced than I initially thought albeit still pro-American (which is understandable).

That said, what do you think went wrong from the 80s to 2008? (I’ve got my theory).

It's harder these days with the bought and paid politicians helping the 1% ers trying to bring back serfdom, and modern day indentured slavery but many ppl are making it.

It's a must to program your/our mind for success and cut-off non-productive friends, associates, and fam.
