he didnt quit rap..he was blackballed...by the label..once he hit they ass with a audit...

they hit him with a cease n desist ...he couldnt record under the name chamillionaire or record for a period... because universal owned the rights to the album venom,,,,

cham always was active it was jus a time he couldnt record but he did a shyt load of guess..

he left the industry like slim thug paul n the rest of the texas rush..

but they still was making music

When he begged and pleaded, threw a tantrum and gave them silent treatment (I presume) they let him take a break from this format but Jimmy was like fine Em but you’re gonna have to give me a follow up to “Lose Yourself” so then you got “Not Afraid” on that album. What was that Recovery, where he apologized for the previous album that, aside from the voices, was better than the (then) new album



Temptations > How Do U Want It > Toss It Up

Magic Stick > Candy Shop > Amusement Park

Was never able to redo In Da Club, high bar to achieve again but he tried. Songs like “Get Up” were attempts at recapturing that success

They aren’t mutually exclusive. I listened to the mixtape messiah tapes and remember the Dyke Jones skits almost word for word. But that doesn’t change the fact that he’s known by the general public for one huge song that ended up being covered by Weird Al
