It depends on how many rooms you watch HD content in.
If you only have 1 TV and only watch stuff in 1 room, you can find 1 HD box and cable for a decent price. The problem is when you have to add on the additional box fees for more than 1 room. I have 3 HDTVs, and I honestly use them all pretty much daily.
Living Room
Mancave
Bedroom
For example, with Comcast, last time I got a quote for cable from them, I think for DVRs and HD, or even just HD, I'd have to pay like 7 or 10 bucks per box depending on which one I got on top of whatever my bill is.
That's an extra 21 to 30 bucks in my case just for HD content. That's what annoys me the most about some of these cable companies and ISPs. So I stream everything, and have an antennae for local broadcasts.
Breh, HBO is the least of my concern. I hear you, but I only watch espn and a&e. My wife and kids are the problem. I can stream anything at any time (xbmc, vipbox) and be cool but they gotta have "convenience"

EXACT same boat I'm in.
A Roku or Amazon Fire Tv sounds like some shyt you need then, something that has easy to navigate menus that will keep your wife and kids happy.
I have a Roku 3, but going to get an Android Box since you can load HDCinema and Showbox + Kodi on them.
Good look, but the channels I need are VH1, OWN, DISNEY XD, NICK, and SPROUT. Unfortunately no streaming service has all of these. Not even a combination of services has these

Disney XD is on Sling, also just about everything you'd want from VH1 is available on Showbox, and I'm sure Mobdro has a lot of the channels you can't find legally![]()

my youngest daughter has roku, and is fine with that. but its the other two women in the house that gotta have cable.

What are yall using for Live Sports? NFL, College Football, NBA, etc...? Is it good quality and dependable? Also are there simple options out there for recording live streams of games?
I'm looking at these 2 Verizon packages right now, I'm about to throw Direct TV in the bushes.
1. Fios 50megs, Local channels in HD, HBO & Showtime. (2-year agreement) $50 in year 1, $70 in year 2.
2. Fios 25megs, Select Tier Channels (A&E, AMC, BET, TBS, USA, CNN, DIS, BBC, NICK, VH1, Cartoon Network) No TNT & No ESPN $65 for 2 Years.
I pay 53 for internet now and 120 for Direct TV![]()

Nah, they don't have to have it, it's not a necessity and you need to explain how much money you're blowing on cable breh. You said you paid $175 a month, in just 5 years that adds up to $10,500 on cable B, you're basically paying for an economy class car every 5 years just to keep some shyt you don't really need![]()

Well the internet is a necessity. Need that for work. Can write that off on taxes. But no doubt cable isn't a necessity.
Fam, I'm all about cutting expenses, we saved around $4000 the last two years on just phone and cable bills.
Once you think about how much you're spending in years as opposed to just a monthly rate that shyt hits home. The way we watch TV it's like we DVRed everything.
