Wherever whores go.....
I would say $100 is the breaking point for people for the average person in terms of how much they want to pay for both TV + Internet.
But the cost off add on like DVR or HBO ballon it up well past $100, not to mention most packages are 12 month specials.

Cable companies do not care too much, even with so many people dropping cable, they also offer internet and sometimes are the only company.
So don't expect them to suffer too much.

Yea, either way they are getting paid.

I have asked them why I can get HD channels for free with an antennae yet I have to pay more for it with cable when they've tried running some promotion by me. I feel like these companies are preying off of those that just don't know any better

It depends on how many rooms you watch HD content in.

If you only have 1 TV and only watch stuff in 1 room, you can find 1 HD box and cable for a decent price. The problem is when you have to add on the additional box fees for more than 1 room. I have 3 HDTVs, and I honestly use them all pretty much daily.

Living Room
Mancave
Bedroom

For example, with Comcast, last time I got a quote for cable from them, I think for DVRs and HD, or even just HD, I'd have to pay like 7 or 10 bucks per box depending on which one I got on top of whatever my bill is.

That's an extra 21 to 30 bucks in my case just for HD content. That's what annoys me the most about some of these cable companies and ISPs. So I stream everything, and have an antennae for local broadcasts.
Oh I see. Yeah we got one 50 inch in the living room.

Small tv just for background noise in the room.

My girl watches more tv than me. She actually got me into tv and these threads too...so many dope shows out

For less than the cost of your internet bill alone I stream everything and have episodes by the hour in most scenarios.
THIS!!! I been torrenting all my shows for years because it's MUCH MORE convient to watch on my own time than to watch live + subtitles. Or I could just use Hulu/Networks' sites or apps.

So sports is the only reason to have cable.

Most cable companies have on demand demand the shows are on there the next morning

I still don't k ow how to use torrents nor do I have time for that

I used to just stream the show when I didn't have cable

id never do a 2 year contract on anything. When I first moved into my apartment I got a $250 visa for a 1 year agreement with Uverse. Internet was like $50 a month tho but thats all I needed. Forgot the speed but it was good for what I needed.

Now, they have
Internet (18mbps)+tv+hbo+amazon prime (1 year) for $50 a month
and the same package but with 45 mbps for $60 a month

That isnt too bad imo, especially for prime
