For cable, internet, phone, and security I pay Comcast $180/month + taxes and fees. I've tried figuring out every way possible to cut cable but it's just not working because by the time you pay for internet by itself + like Netflix and Slingtv it's still damn near near $100 with way less channels. Might as well pay the extra $80 and have all 4 of the services I have now. It would be different if it was just one TV I guess but there's 5. I guess cable it is :snoop:

20 dollars for internet :dwillhuh:
That's how they get you.

Thing is, it never stays that price from what I've seen
:francis:

Basically they'll run a promo that says, internet for 6 or 12 months for 19.99... 25mbps. Then after that promo is up, the shyt will go up to like 40-50 bucks just for internet. Then they'll say, "We see you only have internet on your package, and you can get a promo for internet and cable for 50 dollars by switching to this plan". So people will be like, well it's the same price, I'll just add it.

Then when that promo goes up the price is over 100 dollars easy.

My bill started out at 20 dollars with Comcast, but over 3 years it's now right at 90 for 60mbps and a basic cable box (which doesn't even get used because it's SD) that I had to add in order to get the price that I have now.
:snoop:

I've been turning down their new promo deals for like a year now because I already know what the game is.

So the smart idea is to turn down any cable company "promo", and stick to their regular prices? Where I live it's Time Warner.

I might switch up to Apple TV. I want to know if it's a smart idea.

It's like pulling teeth with these companies but you can try. It's hard getting a straight answer on exactly how much shyt will cost over time to be honest with you.

I'll pay for cable but im the type that needs to know im getting the most bang for my buck. When i was doing my condo/townhouse search early last year they were some nice ones i came across in areas that only got comcast. So I was thinking maybe things have changed now. So i called them and asked some questions. Basically for deals for what I paid for FIOS it would have been 35 bucks a month more with Comcast. That was a deal price too so i was like :camby:. I was only going to move to areas where I can get FIOS and transfer my service. That made my search after more challenging but found my spot eventually.

I only got one HD box, which is for the living room. I live by myself so I dont see the need of paying for 2 boxes. I watch what i need there. However I did have my bedroom made cable ready so my TV picks up the local HD channels but I have my chromecast and showbox hooked up there so its all good. Plus FIOS has no issues to renewing my deals. They're supposed to expire but I make sure they never do :smugfavre:..paying 104 a month is all good.

Not worth it, at one point with internet, cable package, DVR and one expanded package (sports so I could get Fox Soccer, not even in HD) my shyt was like $160 a month. Definitely not worth it.

I pay 40 a month for 30 meg internet and have 2 of those HD antennas. Between that, Netflix, and all the apps available for shows/movies paying for cable is the last thing on my mind.

Keep HBO and cut other movie channels.

Movies come out so fast on DVD now the movie channels don't matter

Or use the free movie site thru ps4 or xbox :youngsabo:

Breh, HBO is the least of my concern. I hear you, but I only watch espn and a&e. My wife and kids are the problem. I can stream anything at any time (xbmc, vipbox) and be cool but they gotta have "convenience"
