In other words, he can't score/shoot to an acceptable level so you reach for these nonexistent qualities he doesn't have to make up for his deficiencies. It's the exact same thing a parent would do with their child that basically has very little hope in life.

Look at him now, he isn't shyt, he's surrounded by average players just like all the other PGs in the East were when he was elected to go to all those all-star games - is Rondo likely to be an all-star this season? HELLL fukkIN NO. Paul and Wall are 'pass-first' PGs, yet they have no trouble putting up close to 20 points a night... what's Rondo's excuse?

If anything when they were in their prime Rondo was just seen as a role player and no one was calling him an elite PG. He didn't make his first all-star team until 09-10 and by that time KG had already blown his knee out and Ray & Pierce were both declining.
