no we'll use a current backup. we shut the board down and covert from that point

would be fun to have a period that wouldn't count

anything posted for that period would be lost forever after the change

I would have complied a script to mirror the current vbulletin database, while at the same time modify any key/values to work in the new framework.

Then once I had two dbs mirroring each other in real time I would have switched the dns to point to the new server/ip and it would have rolled out to everybody depending on their ISP within 24 to 48 hours, some instantly.
