My work schedule would consist of Monday thru Wednesday and the next week Monday thru Thursday. Vice versa.

Is it possible to get a math degree online on my free days which is near the end of the week and weekend? The days I work are 12 hour shifts.

I would like to be math tutor on my days off for extra bread.

There's plenty of schools you can get your degree online. Do some research. Just know a math degree most likely consists of Calculus, Calculus 2, and Calculus 3. You doing physics too.

I wouldn't say you could work at your own pace though, a lot of courses have deadlines.

Any online school will allow you to turn in your homework early. So essentially if you got ahead in any class in the first week (and made a small sacrifice) you could then do your schooling on whatever days you wanted to :yeshrug:

If you just want to be a math tutor for K-12, you may not even need a full degree. Most math majors go into analytics, stats, and sometimes finance. Maybe take some classes at your local CC. Some schools offer online courses and self-paced. You may even be able to get your coursework fully funded through a scholarship or work-study.

I’m pretty sure whatever state you live in has state/City universities and I’m sure they have online degrees.

Just don’t go to a for-profit college

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
You don’t need a degree. By the time you’re 35 you can just lie. Employers won’t check.

I don’t have a degree :manny:

But I lie. I have a degree from a college that closed in 2002.

if you’re trying to get into upper management, learn the Microsoft office platform, specifically access and excel. Learn a little accounting.

fukk giving these schools thousands of dollars for info you can google or watch on YouTube.

unless you’re trying get a cert or designation that requires a degree, you’re wasting your time.

its facts though.

I started at a company making $13.00 and hour. After getting promoted 3 times I was making $110,509 before I left 10 years later.

On my resume, I got years of management experience. General manager, area manager, regional manager. From well know national corporations

so those previous titles and companies solidify my worth. I add the college degree just for show. Potential employers figured if I worked for other companies, they must have did their due diligence.

I took an Office Automation class learning the basics of Excel. All I got was a certificate and a little something else to add to my resume but I'm a State Analyst now. Being able to finesse that resume is key :wow:

Idk about flat out lying though :russ:

It may work for others I've just never been bold enough to try it.

I took those classes through the State (CA) for free via a scholarship. I'm sure your state offers programs that can help as well OP.

While the job didn't necessarily require a degree, a degree would have made attaining my position a hell of a lot easier and upward mobility might be easier for someone who has my title and some type of degree.

I’m in my 40’s. Ain’t no company checking for 20 year old transcripts:mjpls:

All I’m saying is. By the time you hit your late 30’s, the work history should trump your education.

young people with degrees can’t find decent paying gigs. It’s a racket. I did the online degree shyt for a year before I came to my senses.

for one, you should know what you want to do career wise when you’re still in high school. What profession you want to be in. Most kids go to college and don’t know what they want to do. Or they pick a degree that’s not of significant value in the real world.

If you’re trying to go the school by the time you’re 30, if it’s not for a specific designation like CPA, or some type of medical cert, you’re wasting time and money. It’s just that simple. You should have been able to find a company that allowed you to grow from within.

A lot of people go to work, just to work. Instead of thinking long term, they think check to check, season to season.
