It is..

It’s a way to soundboard without really being judged.

And a good therapist will not only listen but will challenge you and be honest with you. Sometimes you are in your own way and don’t even know it.
All of this.

Good therapy is like having a boxing coach in your ear calling attention to your faults and showing you how to attack them shyts.

as a christian i find its not as beneficial as prayer and going to confession and spiritual reading. cuz at the end of the day therapy can’t give you principles or moral guidance or a purpose as to why you need to “get better” at all

in some ways its good at giving you sheer technique (like every action/feeling begins with thought so catch your negative thoughts as they start) but that aint nothing i couldn’t have learned from a napoleon hill book or something like that

but talking about feeeeelings all in depth and shyt aint my bag forreal. thats just me though

I’m big into working out and being physically healthy but never really tried therapy which from what I hear is supposed to be the goat for your mental health and truly learning to love yourself.

I’ve made money , smashed hella broads and still know there is something missing to truly find happiness. I am happy when I’m fukked up but outside of that I’m living that robotic rat race life working a job and counting down towards the weekend. This can’t be what life is all about.

Coli folks , what is your experience with therapy?
It's good but it's like working out. You have to implement what you learned daily for it to be effective.

It was for me but I was open to the process. I’m already self aware and that also helped a lot. The biggest thing is making sure your therapist is the BEST fit for you and that could mean shopping around. I’ve been going since 2018 and I feel a lot better but I was ready. I was tired of walking into the same walls and getting the same results.

side note, I was forced into therapy/anger management in the military after I tried to fukk someone up. I enjoyed it
Bruh I’m a vet myself so I feel you on that trying to fukk someone up. Checked into my second command and had a higher ranking mf trying to pull rank on my every chance he got . Gin t
Went for a few sessions, got some benefit out of it for sure. Just have to be open to realizing what it may reveal. Can’t be defensive going in IMO
ill keep that in mind about the going in without being defensive. I’m paying for these sessions so I’m getting my money’s worth. Good look

Its better than bubbling your feelings inside without an outlet to let it out, going to therapy is a healthy practise and there should be no stigma around it.
That’s my main issue I let that bad energy build up until I eventually go off on someone. If I didn’t have the gym or weed idk what id do lol

I believe therapy can be beneficial, if a person want it to be beneficial. However, those who don't believe in therapy will not benefit from it.

At the end of the day, whether one goes to therapy or not, I believe that a person need to address whatever issues they may have in order to live a happy and productive life.
This a bar. I’m def going into it optimistally
