Nah they aren't over rated. Took over vast parts of Nothern France, then they took the British monarchy from the Anglosaxons as the Normans. Then shook up Russia. I mean, i wouldn't call them a high culture people or anything but in terms of just causing mayhem and kicking the crap out of other groups, they had an hell of an impact.

Aztecs, Olmecs, Maya, Nazca, and several others were a bunch of barbarian/cannibal/savages as depicted in their artwork.
