people forget that outside of Rome and other southern european countries, most of europe was less civilized than West, North and East Africa in the early middle ages. that's why I don't tolerate it when british people talk shyt. these mongels are still less than 600 years remove from fukking their siblings and cousins. thats why they all look like.

the only europeans that can flex their history are Italy, Greece, Macedonia and Turkey.

There's a various peoples who didn't keep a written history, so it's strange that you would say "like other civilized ppls". Are you saying that every people, including African ones, who didn't keep a written history were not "civilized"? Or is that "civilized" ironic?

This is it. Every production I’ve seen from God of War to Assassins Creed to American Gods to Vikings to the Northman to Marvel is them being tools to beat peoples ass. It’s easier to get hype over them over like say the Romans or Greeks, where you have to get into the philosophy or the politics. Not saying they weren’t violent, but their cultures didn’t begin and end with gladiators and Spartans

Scholars say otherwise; the Northmen were skilled sailors, farmers and were more social forward than most Europeans at the time. We can point at many African societies with the same traits but Vikings are remembered fondly, by the West, for their savagery and others are remembered for just being savages.

I hear you. That being said it's only logical that Westerners will remember more fondly their own. And it's something more recent also, the Vikings show might really have something to do with it. Vast majority of Western Europe stan the Romans and Greeks, who themselves saw the rest of Europe as Barbarians basically (meaning including the ancestors of the countries now stanning them lmao). I've been around Euros my whole life and have lived in France, Belgium and Italy since 96 and tbh I don't see all these supposed "fond memories" of Vikings, they were hardly mentionned at all prior to that series, and even now it's mostly limited to extreme-right rings and I guess some fans of metal music here and there. Might be different in the US and Scandinavia, but I know that for example that the Sami people (who might be the last traditionnal/pagan peoples of Europe) are discriminated against up there by the general population and governments, so I'm not even sure they stan their own Viking ancestors like that.

My issue with Vikings is that they did not build anything of consequence .

I mean they where mostly raiders looking to loot and plunder without much care for conquering and building. At the same I'm sure being Ados you know many people with last names like:Johnson, Wilson, Robertson, Anderson. Where you think they came from.
