Really it just takes one extra step.. This is a cost of living calculator.. It lets you compare what level of income you need to maintain the same standard of living in two cities....

This says that 50k in manhattan, is equivalent to 20k in birmingham alabama

So congratulations if you make 50k in nyc... Theres barely above min wage workers in alabama having the equivalent standard of living

Theres a lot of nyc cats on here, thats the basis of a lot of this bs.

I remember a thread here, there was a few women from nyc that refused to date anyone making less than 100k. Comparing nyc cost of living vs everyone elses is asinine.

Now there are cost of living calculators out there that would give us a better perspective. How mad are you dusty new yawkas gonna be when you figure out 100k in your city is equivalent to 40k in some random southern town. But this isnt about reality

Just looked at that cost of living calculator and .

I don't make as much as I'd like but no wife no kids, relatively low cost of living so I'm not even worried.

I have several employees who are over 30 and I'm sure are making 20-30k and they still seem to survive somehow despite having kids and shyt.

no. I own a house, and I hardly work

How do you go on vacations and buy things you like while saving money?

i only go on vacation to cheap places, california and utah, and i stay with family and friends, they then stay with me when they come to vegas. I don't really pay for eating out/going out because i get it comped due to my job. I pay myself first 20%+. I don't have expensive tastes, so its not that hard.

Do making around you peers make you feel invaluable?
