Is there enough money in the world for everyone to be rich?

If our planet's wealth was evenly distributed and efficiently managed by a central world government that is fair and just, we would all have to be drugged up and stripped from our natural thoughts and emotions for that to work.

Man's nature has shaped the system we live under. At the end of the day, we are animals, highly intelligent animals, but animals nonetheless.

Can everyone in the world be rich? Simple answer is no. But the term rich is relative, but I'm assuming you mean balling multi-millionaire can have anything one wants and needs rich and the answer is no. I dont even think its feasible for everyone to live comfortably. The fact of the matter is everyone is born unequal. Some are taller, stronger faster, more attractive, more intelligent. The value for goods and services are always going to widely vary, how can one justify a person being a doctor making the same income as a person who sweeps floors? If they made the same amount everyone would just want to sweep floors (not necessarily the case, some ppl really do "love" their occupation).

It sucks but the way I see it there has to be a distribution in economic class, now what needs to happen is those with the privilege of being in the higher class should do more to assist those on the bottom, I have no idea what the use of some of these "billionaires" have for all the money they have to just be sitting there.

Yeah that was the main flaw with an ideology like Communism. They really wanted everyone to be equal but its just not feasible for many reasons.

I agree with what your saying, but scarcity does not create value, it only appears to. Thinking if he money apply, the value of money is based on faith and credit, so the appearance of scarcity must be maintained. Money has no I intrinsic real value. Something like water does not derive its value from scarcity, but to its essential nature In human life. The scarcity of water only determines it's monetary value, but it is clear that water is valuable without money.

more money
If wealth was distributed evenly then prices would be adjusted to offset that...

Exactly, demand pull hyper-inflation would occur causing aggregate price levels to increase on a global scale, so everyone's "richness" would be rendered ineffective almost immediately.

Not everyone wants to be rich. There is MORE than enough wealth in this world for everybody to live a decent life of opportunity, safety, and hard work. Nobody will dispute this. Scarcity is a myth.

Are you an advocate for equal distribution of wealth? if so, whats your opinion on barter systems?

Personally I wouldn't want everyone to be rich. How would it look with me having the same amount of cake as some bum ass nikka that don't work and sit around watching Maury all day ? :aicmon:

The simple technical answer is prices would rise because more dollars will be chasing fewer goods ( demand pull)

I think a better question( because this one is too open ended)

What If everyone in the US was paid 250k a year no matter to do their current job? what would be the benefits and ramifications?

you're right, money doesnt have any instrinsic value. But if we're going on the pretense of the thread, that having x amount of money makes you rich ( Having great worth or value), then we're setting a value on money. And that being the case, the more money everyone has as a whole the more prices are going to rise to reflect that. It's called Inflation.

A better question would have been are there enough resources in the world for everyone to be rich?
