UK never had to go through a Civil Rights movement.

Y'all never had an MLK, or Malcolm, or Medgar, or Rosa.........

There definitely was a civil rights movement in the UK, but like most things here, wasnt as documented or publicized as it is in america.

Things didnt just get better over here by chance. People made that happen.

Maybe another poster on here who knows more about it can speak on it.

A lot of people talking in this thread don’t know much about the UK. But that’s typically of thecoli; knowledge speaks but wisdom listens

Black British Civil Rights Heroes Part 2 of 3

Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to host a presentation by Black History Walks on 'African British Civil Rights Heroes'.In this free lecture BHW will cover::

African-British Civil Rights Heroes, 1596-2006. (Part 2 of 3)

The bias in schools gives the impression that racism and civil rights was an American issue and totally ignores the struggles Black British people endured. This presentation will provide the names and achievements of those Black people born or resident here that fought against British racism over the last 400 years.

Includes: Thomas Peters, Mary Prince, Ottobah Cuguano, Baron Baker, Olaudah Equiano, Phyllis Wheatley, Dame Jocelyn Barrow, Mavis Best. Also covers issues such as virginity testing at Heathrow, deaths in custody, Saturday schools, ESN classes, and much more

This teaching event is happening tomorrow over here. But no, we never had a civil rights movement. :skip:

Plus notice the unwarranted disrespect in the thread out of nowhere, but will then turn around and complain and cry when other groups keep their distance.

No one knows those people except y'all.....but Y'ALL know OUR people.

The whole world does.

Think about that for a second.

There's nothing to think about.

You claimed we never had a civil rights movement. I'm showing you we did, that's it. End of story.

Your point about who is more popular than who is irrelevant.

They have hamburger stands instead of hot dog stands. They have a uk version of The Wire called Top Boy. Their detective and mystery shows are a lot more interesting and less formulaic than us shows. They drink more tea than coffee. They call “tea” - dinner .
