This. I thought the "football move" after the catch determined if it's a fumble or a catch.

Nope..according the rulebook...it doesnt matter if its at the 50 yard line or at the goalline...he has to maintain possession after the catch. the ball moved. the rules are different for a catch as opposed to a runner crossing the goal line

If they wanted to rule it no TD since he so called lost possession(even though he broke the plane) then they should rule the catch at the one since he made a football play for a TD.... it’s the reason why the whole breaking the plane was instituted... to make it easier to score.... hence a so called more entertaining games... I’m sure there are examples of players diving for the goal line and losing control of the ball.... but since the plane was broken, it was called a TD

check the rams/seahawks first game this year...gurley crossed the plane but fumbled the ball and it was touchback. the rules are different for catching the ball as opposed to being a runner crossing the goalline. messed up rule but refs called it right.

If that’s the case... then that is a beyond awful rule

Don't argue the catch, argue the rule.

The rule makes this not a catch when it clearly should be. They need to get rid of the rule.

false. 1, because gurley was running and not catching the ball, 2 because he fumbled out of the end zone there wasnt anything ruled incomplete
