black eyed peas, collards and chitlins were the foundation of New Years growing up. I got a love/hate relationship with chitlins. I quit em at least 4X and keep coming back. I haven't had em in 4 years, tho.

Dessert is Bread pudding,with egg nog and/or coquito. and No one better @ me with the ‘mj smiley’ bc I don’t like blackeye peas. I don’t like how they taste. I prefer pinto and as a daddy’s girl my father does whatever I ask. Waits for it....

idk how my mom does it but I don’t ask. I just eat. I tHink they come prepackaged at the grocery store where she shops and she seasons, adds spices, hot sauce and boils them. They’re like mad sticky though but good.
People always putting brown sugar in their baked beans. i don't like it. only like sugar in deserts. beans should be savory, like red beans and rice, black beans, shyt even refried bean. i never eat them and think, this needs some sugar in it. baked beans is a waste, could've used those beans in some chili instead.
But black eye peas are just delicious to me, i eat it with rice like some hoppin johns.
