I really don’t get people saying Geto Boys most influential. Face as a solo artist, hell yea. But that group? Nah. And someone said CMR and that fly shyt. Pimp C had been doing that.

Why are you even in the thread, but not understand how Geto Boys is influential? Its like saying I get how Ice Cube is influential as a solo artist, but dismiss NWA. Without NWA, there is no Cube as a solo. Same for Face without Geto Boys. Geto Boys are to Southern Hip Hop what NWA is to the West. Geto Boys broke ground. I mean just off "Mind's Playin Tricks" alone.

Shut your goofy ass up. You be in every thread about southern artists acting like some contrarian who's some foremost expert on southern hip hop. Geto Boys broke ground with that ONE fukkin song. Their influence ain't go no further than Houston and that ONE fukkin song. You can't sit up here and convince me Bushwick's style or wack ass Willie D was influencing anyone. It's only ONE person in that group who is consistently named as an influence. Face was solo artist who Lil J convinced to be in the fukkin group. There's a handful of groups (maybe even two) who will get mentioned before GB. And as the thread says, 3-6 is the most influential Southern rap act ever. To disagree shows you don't know shyt about southern hip hop. fukk out my mentions

Actually, your opinion is contrarian. If you have nothing other than insults to offer, then you should stay out of discussions and remain on the sidelines especially when you have no clue what you're talking about. Geto Boys pioneered Southern Hip Hop as a collective. Scarface is the lyricist of the group, but we all know Bushwick and Willie D verses from "Mind's Playin Trick". Biggie shouted out every member of the group on the album version of "One More Chance". Biggie isn't a Southerner.

There is a reason why DJ Screw was DJ Screw. Screwed music existed before people even knew who Three Six was. Screw music went hand in hand with lean. That was a whole sub culture within itselfThere were screwed hooks in Hip Hop before "riding Three Six in order to give them their flowers" became a thing.
Again, you don’t know wtf you talking bout. Disco Dave and Jam Pony Express in Florida was doing “drag tapes” aka Screw music minus the chopping before Screw. If you gonna talk about southern hip hop culture, at least know it

Honestly yeah. The demonic image the repetitive hooks and dumbed down lyrics are prevalent in the music scene now. People don’t rap like them though
