No Buddy. That is what you call the past, and what you think is no longer occurring....but all that exist is the MOMENT.
NO before, NO after...thats human concepts

Movement in space is a change in position, it does not qualify as time. We may have invented a variable called time to make predictions of the locations and\or positioning of objects that move, or appear to be moving in "space". But that does not make time real

Far as I know...Might sound crazy

The moment you are aware of is in the past.

Actually yes.

You can only be where you perceive you are.

Perception takes time....no matter how fast it is....it still takes time.

Google how fast it takes for brain synapses to fire.....they are extremely fast.

Things may seem to be instantaneous...but it's not. Time has elapsed.

And if time has elapsed. It's the past.

:unimpressed:

Not true, could go into all sorts like hypnosis and things of that nature to show that this is false. Perceptions can be false and they can be manipulated.

Everything else you said doesn't disprove what i said and i will say it again, it doesn't mean you are IN the past, just means you are perceiving it.

nikka human babble is this fukking thread, is time an illusion these high ass nikkas

Time is clearly not an illusion we are clearly limited by time, next week is next week and is not today and what separates next week from today is fukking time.

We think forwards. But what if we could break out of that and think backwards. Could we practice to do so. Are we stuck thinking forwards of is that a mental cage due to force of habit? Could you train yourself to think backwards?

Similarly that connection that we feel to a point in time is not present within the laws of physics and there is no known scientific reason why we could not decouple ourselves from the flow of time and move independently.

In such a scenario we presume n-dimensional space-time (well 10/11) and our awareness moving within it.

You remember yesterday and you remember 1 millisecond ago. Why does yesterday feel like "before" and 1 millisecond ago feel like now? There is no scientific reason for that.

Most physics works backwards as well. There are a few exceptions.

Time is you as a conscious being of pure energy perceiving other energy in a semi-fixed state.

Your perception of it slows down and speeds up based on

a. Used storage space in your brain as opposed to how much free space you have
b. Efficiency of which you process information at any given time
c. Memory errors (you blanked this out because it was boring/traumatizing/drugs)

:yeshrug: but at the same time, if you didn't have a perception of time, you wouldn't exist as an "I am". You'd just be an "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII"

Perception takes time. PROOF? Some things move faster than you can see / perceive :ld: .

It could work like vision. Sometimes you focus in. Sometimes you don't. The question is about being stuck in the flow of time.

can't be helped.

we're flies in amber.

You can try to consciously alter your perception of it.

You may succeed.

but you can't alter your body's perception of it. It's semi-fixed matter. It can't defeat entropy.

I don't see how time is an illusion...

I mean, age and time are synonymous with each other, and no one in their right mind would say that age is an illusion.

Dont need to read that

Its simple

With every minute that passes, future minutes are a smaller % of your experienced life.

Summer vacations seemed to last forever as a kid because 3 months or so was a decent % of your life at the time

Fast forward 10-20 years later and 3 months isnt shyt

Imagine being 90

Common sense
No. The present is gone by the time you are aware of it. We live in the very recent past.

And that very recent past is different for everyone. #Relativity.

Present is an illusion. Just as much of an illusion as touch. You never actually touch anything.
i get what u saying but nah

u literally describing the past as the present

Everything that happens happens in the present moment

the civil war was the present moment when it happened

Err nol, I used the words we use in measurement of time in my explanation because what fukking else am I meant to use

I clearly said what separates next and and today (the measurements) IS TIME (the actual thing)

time is a man made measurement of distance

there is no actual thing called time
