Bra I am in my 30's too. Rock and grunge may have been a rival. But you/I know the words to a lot of those records from back in the day. Jesus, your experience is just like mine. What a mash up of music we dealt with.

Absolutely bro, funny enough as I got older I came to appreciate a lot of the east coast shyt that I thoroughly dismissed like nas and wu but definitely it was rough being a west coast head growing up, whenever we did run into each other we treated it each other like members of a secret society lol

I am from Toronto, and there was a mix of a lot of music. But for the most part east coast music dominated for me and my friends(Iam not going to try to claim a city). For obvious reason. But this album transended everyones musical tastes.

It is a classic imo. I am almost positive, that most people who where born in the 80's no matter who they liked. Could rap along word for word with this album.
Exactly, born in Cin,oh This album was everywhere, had a bigger impact than illmatic (IJS). Greastest lyrics? Nah.,but it has well done songs, unforgettable songs

RE the bolded: lol, I myself dismissed the too shorts the 2pacs the spice 1's and on and on. I heard to 2pac back in the day. But I never really listen to 2pac till like 00-01.

This is so true for you dudes. It's not like you guys where not cool or anything. But when it came to arguing about rap music, it was a nod to the people listening to east coast rap(And if you where friends with them it was a East coast music sucks). Then you guys would go off and talk about West coast rap.

EDIT:This post might have come off as patronizing bullshyt. Ugh..

Classic. As I said in a previous thread it should be mentioned amongst the GOAT albums. The only thing lacking was lyricism but every song was a classic and the production was :ohlawd:

I am with you, I think this album is up there with the all time classics. Just such a great album.
