Not terrible but kinda generic:ld:

Then again I always thought dude was kinda overrated. Buddy can rap but some folk act like he the truth truth when he just pretty solid

Nobody looks at Isaiah as the 2nd coming of Nas. Or even Kendrick. He's just a dope artist who makes great music. He's not gonna drop crazy bars but he's gonna drop rhymes that'll stay stuck in your head for days. I've prolly bumped cilvia demo more than I've bumped any Kendrick album. Zay's flows and melodies are what set him apart. Even on this song. I thought it was solid at first...nothing special. Now I can't stop reciting the chorus in my head. shyt is hypnotic. Zay wasn't trying to drop the craziest verse. He was just vibing. Song almost sounds like they freestyled the whole shyt. That's what's dope about it.

Zay's music is like that though. It sneaks up on you. You don't realize how dope it is until you can't stop playing it. When it comes to making great songs, Isaiah is one of the best in the game. I'd even say top 5. I'll take his catalog all day over Conway or Freddie Gibbs. Zay is way more versatile.

Songs like this are why I consider Isaiah elite

how does dropping peak pandemic when you can't tour, do clubs, and barely do live press make sense? :what:

edit: and yall saying b/c-list players should've dropped, they are the undercard of festivals, they rely on club, campus, and small theater shows...touring is just as important to them as the headliners. why drop some shyt your fans won't be listening to a year later when you can tour? only the big dogs can do that - we all talk about the short shelf life of music yet yall want them to drop 6+ months out before they can perform live

You act like TDE have only been on this bullshyt since the pandemic. :gucci:

They've been doing this for years.

And if artists like Megan, Nas, and pop stars like Taylor Swift and Charli XCX can drop shyt during the pandemic then some B team TDE artists can do something.

My posts specifically says big dogs can drop well ahead of touring then you go on to name big dogs like nas, swift and xcx and a meg whose debut was overdue :dead:

going from Cilvia Demo to ST felt like he had a stroke :picard:
Brenda was definitely a tough listen for me at first. Zay took the slurred delivery a bit too far at times throughout the album, though I thought it went hand-in-hand given the subject matter and production overall. Sun’s Tirade has this unique, faded vibe about it that I really fukk with.

I see why some don’t mess with it like that. Cilvia had depressing rap over upbeat production while Tirade dialed in on depressing rap over more somber joints. It’s tough for sure.
