I just wanted to chime in with this, Isiah never made an ALL NBA team after the Bird controversy in the 87 ECF. Was it a coincidence? who knows.
Is there any year after 87 when he deserved an all nba spot?

There were always clearly superior guards. They even started the third team in 89.

That don't mean a goddamn thing

Everyone knows he's PG GOAT number 2

Dude played in the era of Dr J, Bird, Magic, Kareem (MJ was still coming into his own with a mediocre team) etc and his stats alone weren't gonna get him it.

And he still won two titles and a finals MVP
Not now..Steph lapped him. He's 3

Dame got some years left to make it interesting for 3

Off top, Jordan, Magic, Stockton, Drexler, then Price and KJ. Im not sure.
In 1989 he is beaten out by Dale Ellis and Mark Price for third team

In 1990 it’s his own teammate Dumars and Clyde for third team.

In 1991 it’s Dumars again and Stockton

I don’t think he as much of an argument got a snub.

Did Mitch Richmond make any during that timeframe?

Not at all. Usually when you're one of the star players if stats are close the established star gets benefit of the doubt or it goes to the top team. In Zeke's case he was getting voted over by players with really similar stats on teams with less wins. That shyt was absolutely related.

Excellent point. So that was the media's way of getting back at him.
