I don’t rewrite history they lost

The Celtics never got past the 2nd round after 1987

Lakers went to the finals after 1989 cuz of the greatness of magic Johnson

The bulls beat a lakers team that had the 2nd most wins in the west and took out the one seed in the wcf lol @ declining

Pistons beat the lakers with magic injured for games 2-4 and Scott out for the whole series they beat the weakest versions of the Celtics and lakers
I knew you were on some bullshyt.

The Lakers were the 3rd in the west, not second.

THAT Laker team also didnt have Kareem or Pat Reily at coach. you going to be phony and say THAT “slowtime” (which what they were called) Laker team wasnt a declining Laker squad? :laff:

Yall are so intentional with the phoniness. Of course you are going to say that squad wasnt on the decline because of who beat that squad.

GTFOH! That Laker squad had no business being a finals team

:dwillhuh: Cuz magic Johnson is an all time great he was 2nd in mvp that season

No Riley no Kareem lakers won almost 60 games and still had a top 5 offense

What are you even talking about? They weren’t showtime but still good they won 3 rounds in the playoffs

The Blazers were in the middle of being one of the all time biggest choking runs. Remember? The same Blazers who had a 1-0 lead vs Zeke’s Pistons the year prior in the finals then went on to lose four straight games?

The same Blazers who up 15 in The 4th vs the Bulls in game six of the 92 finals and gave up the lead with Mike and Scottie on the bench?

THAT is the same squad who choked vs that 3rd place Laker team that you are now pretending was the same Lakers with Kareem, Magic, Worthy, and Pat Riely.

The Blazers were the chokers who had a chance to take the lead in game 6 and choked it away when the late Cliff Robinson fumbled the ball away. :mjlol:

The Blazers choked. That Lakers squad was the most ASS Lakers team of their last 10 seasons.

Old heads in my city would always say how the Spurs should've beat the Blazers in 1990.

Portland nearly gave that one away too that Rod Strickland turnover late saved them

Nah. Only Zeke teams played the old Lakers and Celtics. The Bulls played a "great" Laker team minus Pat Riely, Kareem and an injured Byron Scott. :childplease:
These dudes in here say shyt based on who they like and dislike.

These dudes on here don't understand that Magic, Bird or Zeke only made it to 12-13 years playing them dudes was routinely playing DEEP into the playoffs and that shyt added 2-3 years onto their careers. No load management, no state of the art training, nutritionists, just gym and the weights.

Magic was DONE when Jordan faced him

I want you to name 3 point guards better than Isiah Thomas

At WORST he's #3.

Magic
Zeke
Oscar
Curry

If somebody wants to put Curry above Zeke I got no issue. I disagree but I can see why people do it.

There is no opinion seriously in basketball that I'm even remotely taking serious that Chris Paul is better than Isiah Thomas.

And absolutely he is on the Mount Rushmore of basketball. I really don't understand the absolute hatred of this guy if you love basketball.

I don't understand why scoring is the holy grail of measuring somebody's greatness.

Floor general-ship, ball handling, winning tenacity, will to win. Coming up big when it matters the most. Those are things that just don't show up when you look at somebody's stat sheet.

If we measured people just by the stats score sheet Dennis Rodman wouldn't even come close to being the player that he was in some of y'all eyes. He controlled the game sometimes just by being on the floor. Ditto with Isiah or Jason Kidd

I never said anything about him being or not being a top 3 point guard. I specifically mentioned you saying “an extended mt Rushmore”. It was just funny to me how dudes go so hard for Isiah, dude was nice but I’d take quite a few PGs before him if we just talking talent and not career or accolades.

For the record this thread is wild tho.

1991 wasn't a Showtime Lakers level all time great team but it was still a great team. They had prime Magic and Worthy still the GOAT PG who was MVP last season and runnerup and was diversifyin his game wit his set shot at that point. Worthy arguably top 10 SF ever in his prime. Both All NBA that season. Great roster, wit deep role players round em too.

They beat a 63 win Blazers team that was top 3 on both sides of the ball led by a all time SG and one of the deepest rosters and best coached teams ever. Headin to playoff and even WCF many thought Blazers were gon represent the West shyt that same Blazers team went to the finals the next season.
