Sadly, the NBA is trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator, the casual fans. No more hard nose defense, lack of offensive rebounds, everyone on every position shooting 3s, guards able to drive the lane easily and roam free, wide open shots, etc. I remember at the time in they were talking about the 2005 NBA Finals betw the Spurs and the Pistons as "boring". That's when I knew the downfall would begin :snoop:

I remember that talk even started after the 94 Finals, then yeah came back around that time

they have already tied the record number of 50 point games (8) this season with 50 games left and that record was set last season. That Bernard King game was special and is still talked about. I had already forgot about Jimmy's and Isaiah's 50 point games:mjshrug1:
BKs game was only memorable bc it was on Xmas.

baby, that was the old me
It makes sense though. These days there's stretch 4's and 5's. Why not let the playmaker get the rebound so he can push the floor while the big guys can get set. It's more entertaining. Ya'll wanna watch half court offenses all day but nowadays the game is way more fast paced. It's all about transition offense. Plus in the playoffs it'll slow down anyway when defenders are much more disciplined. bytchin just to bytch

Aint no stretch 5s

Because I cant think of any other noteworthy scoring bigs of today at the moment to be honest besides like nowitski and he KNOWS better than to go inside
Cousins has a step out J, so does KAT, Alice and others.

Oakley was built for yesterday's NBA. His heavy footed plodding would be a liability in today's game. He's be a David West defender on todays game

It's special because he didn't shoot 3s. He just would beast dudes in the paint

Footage of the mid-range GAWDs from that era is like porn to me. shyt is a lost art, but that has a lot more to do with the evolution of the game due to expansion of the talent pool and less space on the court than a lack of fundamentals. English and Aguirre footage=:ohlawd:

His shyt was ridiculous. He'd beat you up using his chest. :heh: He just knew all the spots on the floor without having to look at the basket.

In before everyone comes on here talmbout another old head complaining.. he's right though, shyt is hard to watch these days, dudes out here basically shooting warmup jumpers in games like Thomas said, and we been knowing that most big men in the NBA are trash
Not even 3min in & they talking bout hand checking as if it recently got banned:skip:

Prob the main thing is pace of the game & the 3ball/spacing.
