It's not like they actually listen to Blatt, the problem is they have the pieces to make his offense work but Bron has to play the iso-ball bullshyt. Meanwhile Blatts sets will work if you run them with the talent they have -

They use almost no misdirections in the Cavs set, it's all LeBron + Kyrie high pick and roll, that shyt will not work against the Spurs or Warriors and LeBron seems too stubbon to realize it. If they bring in another coach it'll just be more 1-4 sets where people stand around waiting on LeBron.

Not saying blatts offensive sets aren't good, but that video example isn't that great since it was an obvious blown coverage by the Warriors. It really had nothing to do with great movement or passing.

That was the Princeton right there, blown coverage? that's kind of what the purpose of it is. The play has a ton of options in it even though it looks simple, dribble hand off to LeBron ot Mozgov slips and goes to the basket or when Iman goes to the rim and Loves man sinks down or Bron gets the hand off goes around Moz screen and Bogut follows him leaving Moz open for the jumper.....

Basically they should actually use the sets :yeshrug:

It's pretty fukking sad LeBron's never been coached by an elite mind. How many rings do MJ, Kobe, Magic, Duncan etc win if they were coached by Spoelstra, Mike Brown, Paul Silas & David Blatt? Spoelstra is probably the pick of that bunch which says a lot.

:wtb:

lebron was a free agent last summer. if he wanted to be coach by an "elite" mind, he would have took his ass down to san antonio :manny:

they had max cap space since they were able to sign aldridge.

No that's actually a legit gripe. Out of the top 15-20 players ever, lebron has probably had the worse head coaches coaching him in his career.

The only thing i'll say is lebron had a chance to go to a different them than miami to be coaches by someone he would respect, ala a popp, or a carlisle, had he decided to take less money

None of the coaches you mentioned would deal with Bron's bullshyt so he'd leave. He wants all the power so there'd be no room for a coach to establish anything. Honestly, we don't know what kind of coach Blatt is because all we really have been seeing is Bron ball the whole time. Cats on here tout Bron making everybody in Cleveland his bytch, but the flip side of having all of the power is that you get the blame too. He don't get that coach excuse no more after the past year or so.

The coach has time-outs and subs that he can use if they aren't running his sets

yup, I was curious if Blatt really is a bad coach and found this video of his pre-Cavs sets. They're basically exactly what the Warriors run for a majority of the game. Top of the key pick/dribble hand off with a big, 3 point spacing, off ball cuts/screens, and the 3 man motion wheel at the top.

Video analysis of David Blatt's offensive system for the Cleveland Cavaliers

If the team truly bought in

Kyrie = Steph the trigger dribbling wide off a pick and roll
Lebron = Draymond screening for Steph, when the hook pass comes back off a double, he has a live dribble, no man, and looking at a spaced floor 4 on 3
JR Smith = Klay elbow 3 spaced out
Love = Barnes corner 3 spaced out
Moz or Tristan = Bogut/Ezeli just catching lobs

But there's no way Lebron would buy into screening for Kyrie for 75% of the game even though it would make the game easier for him and the team. It's clear he wants to ISO his man face up or post up and he's not really gonna change at this point in his career.

I feel sorry for Blatt. Dude is a winner internationally but has to deal with an ego maniac superstar that is not willing to adjust his skillset to make the team better.

I wouldn't say it's sad at all. He's pretty much had free rein to whatever he wants since he was drafted - run the offense how he wanted to and handle the ball as much as he wanted to. We're at a point in his career where it's hard to distinguish when and who would've got him to change his approach/style of play.

I feel bad for blatt. First job in the NBA coaching after years of coaching in Europe and he has to deal with this Lebron shyt. I hope he gets a job somewhere else in the L
LOL @ "deal with LeBron shyt". fukk outta here caping for this CAC. LeBron got this non coaching joker an easy trip to the Finals in his first season coaching, may end up getting him a title at some point, and will get him to at least another Finals if Blatt stays around, meanwhile he was doing all kinds of shyt in attempt to sabotage it last year.
