Is there any bigger waste of time than imagining the race of rappers' fanbases?

Dear Black People,

White people have buying hip hip albums en masse since the 80's.

Sincerely,

Everyone

But hey, keep pretending white people only like your least favorite rappers if it makes you happy. Imagination is a wonderful thing.

Debut of an awful poster and a good one in the same thread? :ohhh:

so op just gonna gloss over this post huh?

:smugfavre:

Of course he glossed over it. That wasn't the point of this thread. It's not a legit convo if Kendrick has mainly white or black fans. Anytime a non-gangsta rapper comes out and gets attention they get slapped with the 'only white people' like em.

Really what that means is that they are talented enough that they can't really talk shyt on them artistically so they fall back on bullshyt to disguise the hating.

Wow... this Jesus Christ character is dead ass wrong, like... all the way around.

First off, assuming any successful rapper has an all-black fanbase is retarded as fukk.

Secondly, the DMX/Jay comparison is all kinds of off base. I can't even begin to go in on why and how it's off-base... but you're dumb as a box of rocks if you don't think DMX had a LOT of white fans.

As far as white people only loving "safe" rappers... "gangsta rap" was once all the rage in the music industry and it was selling millions. You think it's because the hood went to the stores? Being a big bad gangsta nikka is only played out now because it was such the dominant image of rap for so many years and people bought it like crazy. CACs bought all that "threatening" shyt, just as much as they bought the "safe" shyt. And if you wanna keep it real, all the stuff we co-sign first, they then co-co-sign it and buy it because we made it hot. That goes for damn near ANY MEGA-POPULAR RAPPER past or present (excluding Eminem) that you can think of.

First off, I invite you to point out to me where I said anything about a rapper having an all-black fanbase. Your dumb ass can't. My point was about "safe" vs "threatening" rappers and that direct correlation to their white fanbase. I can see some of you morons need to get your reading comprehension up.

Secondly, so now you can't formulate an argument? How convenient. You can't explain how I'm "off-base?" Why? Is it because the young cac bytch singing the hook will always win over a big barking black man? Because jay's cac fanbase has always been stronger than x? When did I say x didn't have white fans? gtfoh weak bytch

And yes, gangsta rap was "all the rage" back when it was burgeoning into the mainstream around 91, but due to it's abrasiveness and "threatening" nature it was not the most popular or accepted form of music by a long long long shot. White parents back then forbid their children from listening to rap, stores took copies off shelves due to its abrasiveness. Rappers of the gangsta era didn't have the same business opportunities, executive postions, branching out into other mediums, etc. as they do now simply because it was music too abrasive for whites so they relegated them to the studio. Hip hop didn't become a mainstream superpower until the flossy era which cacs found more acceptable. Especially prevalent today, no one can argue that the least threatening rappers are the most successful and have reached levels of acceptance in the cac community like never before: kanye, wayne, drake, nikki in particular. I've seen people in here mention gucci or flocka who dont share a fraction of the success as the others I just mentioned, why? because that white fanbase doesn't find them "safe" enough. But Kendrick looks non-threatening and safe and whites love it, period.

Now come back with some "bu bu but you're dumb as a box of rocks" garbage and don't back it up, and I'll shyt on you again p*ssy.

:shaq:

The highest selling rap album in the last 10 years is a gangsta rap album and no one has matched it since.

It has a lot more to do with what is perceived as 'cool' as opposed to threatening/non-threatening. They can work hand in hand where a guy getting shot (2pac) seems like a real thug and that becomes cool. And more often than not, from the 80s all the way up till now, the threatening stuff has out sold the non-threatening stuff. A lot of white people live non-threatening lives so what would they choose to 'escape' to? That is why DMX, Tupac, and Dr Dre have gone multiple platinum and Atmosphere has never seen gold.

Oh yea? I didn't know eminem was gangsta.

Marshall Mathers LP came out in 2000. I said the last 10 years. Get Rich Or Die Trying hasn't been out sold since.

He has plenty of violence in his music. Moreso than the average rapper does. He may not be a blood or a crip but it's still negative, threatening music with the same tones. Might as well be 'gangsta rap' You think black rappers get away with having entire songs about raping someone or pretending to be a serial killer? He gets a pass to go above and beyond your average gangsta rapper.

Get Rich Or Die Trying is one of the highest selling albums of all time as is All Eyez On Me and Hell Is Hot.

The World, but from BK
if cacs like a stereotypical angry rapper acting out thug fantasies, you'd be mad at that too. kendrick just taps into people who have outgrown hip hop machismo. as i get older wtf can i get out of wacka etc? even kanye i can't relate to with his whiny rich boy bs. kendrick is the pac of his era. pac before he joined deathrow though.

I'm a Kendrick fan...but :what:

so nobody's gonna explain twitter, one of the BIGGEST most popular social networks in the world, being overwhelmingly full of people who are CLEARLY black, tweeting about this rapper that has a so called ALL white audience?

how does this work? they don't count or something?

are they all bots that the label made up in some great big conspiracy to give off the image that Kendrick has black fans? :usure:

After seeing a white chick listening to Meek fukking Mill in the library I've come to the reasonable conclusion that white people are listening to any and everything...Stop trying to put rappers in that "only white ppl fukk with him" box.Because it's likely that your favorite rapper is in that same boat.

and black people are listening to everything too. this shyts like the battle of good vs evil breh. people want everything to be so black and white or right and wrong that they completely ignore the fukking GREY AREA.

its not just one way. it's never just one way.

it would be dead wrong to say Kendrick has all black or predominantly black fans, and its beyond wrong to imply that his fanbase is all white. the one constant is the word "fans" though, which he clearly has. This entire discussion is pointless. The nikka has supporters, why does the color of their skin even matter?

You can try to spin it whatever way you want, Eminem is not a gansta rapper, he's a weirdo talking about weird shyt. We all know whites are too concerned with their fellow cac reigning atop a black dominated genre first and foremost. If a black man were to talk about the shyt he does, they'd never make it - case in point: tha gravediggaz. Eminem is in a class all his own.

And now you're back tracking, first you said the best selling album was gangsta rap, now it's one of? Sure it is, you're right. But I can give you many more successful "safe" rappers. Outkast, Nelly, Will Smith, Puffy, Wayne, Drake, Kanye...cmon we all know the safe ones are the most successfull and longest lasting. Look at your example, 50, now that his music career is dead he now tries to conform to white standards by getting his tats removed and acting proper in interviews so that he can be in with the whites again.
