His career would have been much different had he stayed with the Suns.

He had a system perfectly suited to his talents AND personality..where he didn't have to be the man...but could dominate like he was.

More than likely they win a championship with Joe there

Joe was just turning the corner, but the Suns had him standing in the corner all game long.

Made the Amare/Nash pick n roll even more lethal.

Joe was basically a spot up shooter.Shot an absurd 48% from 3p range in his final season with the Suns.

Early on, Suns fans were kinda frustrated with him, tho. He'd show flashes, but came off timid.

Very similar to how TJ Warren is now.Always knew he had the talent to be an All Star, just didn't seem like he wanted the spotlight.

'05 came around and ISO Joe was born.He finally grew some nuts and became more aggressive on offense.

Problem was, Nash dominated the ball.Joe's whole demeanor was different, tho.He was out for blood.

Maybe because it was a contract year.He only averaged 16 points a game with the Suns in '05, but he was efficient as hell.

Seemed like he could score at will.Too bad he didn't get more opportunity playing 4th wheel behind Amare, Nash, and Marion.

Then cam contract negotiations and Sarver refused to give him the extra 5 mill he was looking for.I think the Suns offered him

5yrs 45 mill and Joe wanted 5 yrs 50.After that, he was on his way to ATL in a sign & trade for Boris Diaw and a 1st rd pick.

The pick was top 5 protected that first year....Following the season, the Hawks finished with the 6th worst record in the league

but ended up getting the 4th pick....Suns got fukked again:mjcry:

I'm expecting it to happen again this year.Even tho they finished with the 2nd worst record in the league, I'm already bracing

myself for the 4th or 5th pick.Too many storied franchises at the top of the lottery.I can see the Celtics, Lakers, Knicks getting

the top 3 picks.Plus Orlando. The NBA seems to love that Orlando market. They always creep up in the lottery for some reason.

Trading this guy for Tony fukking Delk and Rodney Rogers will remain as the biggest trade blunders in Celtics history.

Joe didn't want it early on.I can see why the Celtics traded him.

Suns fans wanted to trade him those first 2 years with the team.

Had a weirdo disposition and seemed like he hated playing basketball.

I thought he was a super introvert or some shyt.

He's always around. I think only Lebron has played more minutes over the past 10 years. 10 straight playoff appearances, buzzer beaters. Not afraid of any NBA player, will d-up or go one on one with em all. Gets checks. Borderline hall of famer.

nikka is NO borderline HOF. He ain't sniffing the hall imo

Can anyone clowning me refute what I said? Again I never said he was the best or anywhere near that. There are tons of better offensive players than Joe Johnson

But I think it's a legitimate debate that he's up there with being one of the most complete offensive players ever. There wasn't a single thing offensively that he couldn't do effectively. He had a post game, floaters, could shoot the three and midrange effectively and from anywhere on the court. Had a good first step, could operate out of the triple threat, jab step, step backs, ect. His handles were nice and his crossover wasn't bad either, just ask Paul Pierce. Excellent free throw shooter as well

People talk about Melo being the best one on one player but I think it's Joe Johnson. He's named Iso Joe for a reason, but he didn't have to have the ball in his hands all the time to be effective either. He could play off ball, curl off screens to catch and shoot or be a spot up threat. One of his most productive years was being that in Phoenix

Joe's problem was that he never had the desire to be as great as he could be like a Kobe or even McGrady, but as far as his offensive game goes he had no weaknesses
