Joe got traded because they needed another PG. Phoenix told Chris Wallace they’d trade Tony Delk but they wanted one of the rookies and they’d let him choose. He chose to keep Kedrick Brown and trade Joe. Joe becomes a perennial all-star while Brown is out of the league a couple years later
