A certain portion of my people are not my issue.

You keep talking about Solutions and antagonizing but haven’t offered any solutions?

Since your so worried about how Issa and her team are going to represent you.

Again gave you plenty of shows to watch of Good representation of straight black man.
I have already suggested a solution.

Be more subtle like Omar instead of antagonizing straight black men but you disagreed yet not much straight black men hate Omar for being gay so my suggestion has been proven to work unlike yours.

Men talked a lot of shyt when that storyline happened, that why I can’t take that suggestion serious. Old headswere boycotting the show cause of it but they LOVED OZ. Nothing subtle.

What is “advocating for straight black men” tho? Opposing systematic white supremacy is something that benefits us all as black people regardless of gender and sexuality. Speaking out against things like state sanctioned police terrorism based on race isn’t about doing straight black men a favor. I don’t like how our rights are divided up into these little sub-group causes. The only cause we should be focused on is black empowerment.

“Gay rights” is nothing but a deflection because gays have never been deprived of rights on a systematic basis. It’s the same as feminism. It’s all bullshyt. Race has always trumped everything else in this society. White women and white gays have always had more rights and enjoyed more systematic privilege over all blacks whether gay-straight or man-woman.

Those countries in the Caribbean and in Africa are still ultimately controlled by the global system of white supremacy tho. They still aren’t operating without the influence of whites.

While I don’t condone the systematic discrimination of gays, I’m completely opposed to the agenda to normalize and promote it. If we’re black empowerment then we had to be honest what that means. All functional healthy communities start with the building of functional and healthy families which is man+woman+child(ren). The normalization and promotion of homosexuality obviously conflicts with the promotion of rebuilding the family structure. This is something that we’ve got to deal with because there’s no way around it. I’m not one that thinks that straight blacks can’t unite and build with gay blacks, but gay blacks are going to have to get in where they fit in. They’re going to have to realize that they’re personal lifestyle isn’t conducive to empowering a community trying to overcome a relentless all encompassing system of oppression. Black gays who want to support the rebuilding of the traditional black family structure so that we began truly rebuild and empower the entire community are cool, but the black gays who want to make the advocacy for the normalization of their alternative lifestyle choice a priority need to rooted out and kicked to the curb.

Same way you could just not read the comments.
well said

Currently Omar isn’t hated and is respected

You are stuck in the past

It’s not that it wont work because it has worked it’s just that you don’t want to do that.

Do whatever you want but your way has never worked.

i’m a realist. I don’t deal with what could be

Homophobic straight men aren’t in my life, so if I we’re to become a screenwriter, that not a story I would write nor would want to.

Your analogy with Omar isn’t connecting with me because I’ve never watch that show but I remember very clearly about that storyline and peoples disgusting reactions.

I’m not trying to heal everyone. fukk that.

You just discredited her while also inadvertently making the argument that more black women should be speaking out against her.

I've made this exact point several times btw. In the large season thread for insecure in the movie/tv section, I've posted about how none of the women characters on the show are likeable including Issa herself and how the show low key is a bad look for black women.

Thankfully Luke Cage saved the day as the black women portrayed on that show was nothing short of immaculate. :blessed: :shaq:

I propose a trade..... Issa Rae for Ali Wong. I'd rather claim her crazy asian ass than say Issa is one of my people :lolbron:

You not watching that show explains why you don’t know shyt.

Most people who actually watch that show including myself don’t focus much on Omar being gay.

Again you just dont care enough to want straight black men to not to be homophobic anymore. You just want to antagonize straight black men or just see yourself in media and that’s it as you admit.

Since that’s what you want you have no reason to come at my post in the first palace if you don’t want straight black men to not be homophobic because that’s the basis of the first post of mine that you came at me for. My post is about having black people unite against racism no matter their sexuality. Unless you want that then I don’t know why you quoted me in the first place lol.

There plenty of men who aren’t homophobic. Those are the straight men I care and focus on.I gave you over 10 shows that have strong straight men and predominately black families. Again this is A better golden age of black cinema/Tv. Better than the 90’s. Are people can tell multiple stories with decent to great budgets on multiple platforms.

As for Omar, the fact that a black man back them was masculine, from the hood and gay. Do not lie to yourself he is the original poster boy for homophobic men to say the media is emasculating black men. Which is stupid cause there nothing feminine about him. You have rose-colored glasses on about that period.

And why does every black centered show have to be about white people. Y’all give them WAY to much Credit. They do not affect my nor every black people life on a day to day basis.

Unlike the other posters in here, you watched her work. She introduced and talked about a lot and her shows, all of the characters are grew.

Issa basically said fukk Mexicans in season 2 until her change of heart. What show would truly tackle that issue.
Lawrence Was a loyal dude who broke up with Issa, got with a chick who was down for him and cheated/DUMP Her because she wasn’t on his level. Only to get dump by a women who was on his level because he was damaged good.

Y’all are giving her tooo LITTLE credit. She’s created great conversations, wait to see what the show themes are.

You can use all the fake smiles you want but we both know why I said Rustin. He did do some great work but that wasn’t the point. You knew he was just my example of a gay man in a movement which want his hard work but want him silent and in the back cause he makes them in comfortable.

A good number of our black middle class work or have contracts with the government.

Not on Twitter. Another Colorful comment I have no idea about ...great man

he was meddling in the leadership of sovereign governments, you stupid fukk, which is one of the main things the CIA is known for :gucci:

James Baldwin is embraced but somehow Rustin rose to prominence in the same era and you claim they wanted "him silent and in the back" because he made them uncomfortable :mjlol:

I think she's being used...if this was the type of show she wanted to make, she'd have done it with Awkward black girl, which was never anti-black male.

nah they're using her to push an agenda man, but she ain't going back to youtube and give up her fame and wealth for us "cis-hetero black men"

They may be being used, but its important to acknowledge that we don't know if they are unwillingly being used so they can live there dream and tell their stories. Or if being used by white people has always been there dream. There is a important distinction, even though both are bad. Alot of these blacks like Donald Glover I get the feeling are more than happy being used by cacs to spread agendas, and have underlying resentment towards black people,or simply don't understand blackness outside of a european lense. If she did,she would know damn well nikkas ain't fukking with this, and that women don't even want to see a show about a bi black man as real black women don't truly enjoy homosexuals as anything other than mascots and cheerleaders for women. So if this character isn't some flaming sassy homosexual, strongly advocating on behalf of women,I expect it won't do well at all.
