Good point. She had a good show but very niche audience. I think there is an appetite for black culture with a universal appeal and it does come in waves; however, most art isn’t being funded because the current power structure is anti arts.

Someone inspired by her works will come up with something new fairly soon like others have said in the thread. The entire world needs new stories and we’re stuck in a world where the majority of people want to live like they did back In The days.

You know how people kept saying that the social media people are taking over? Well that’s probably what’s happening now with Issa. I know that’s where she started, but you can’t always rely on that. I’m sure that’s why she went Hollywood. Living single came out damn near 35 years ago and still holds up well and the characters are all diverse and relatively likable/relatable.
