As someone who has worked in IT for years (edit: less than I thought, it's 7 years) with a masters and IT security certs, this is bolllocks

No one with a CompTIA (only) certification will be getting anywhere close to $200k. As mentioned before that is C level executive money

MAYBE CCIE, but NEVER a Network+ certification that you can earn when you're 18

What do you exactly do in networking then, sir?
I didn't say that wuz my only cert :snoop:

IKR :russ: and there's no mention of a CISSP cert:mjlol:

Ehh, I got my CISSP and CCNP Security years ago and that alone won't have you touching 200k. You'd also need a lot of specialized experience and have to find the right company looking for the right person at the right time. I got lucky and pulled off 100/hr combined (working remote) but it's not easy.

Very few engineers/architects can pull down that kinda bread. I've only had maybe 3 or 4 jobs come through my inbox that offered that much. Last one was in 2014, but that was for a small TACACS project that would have lasted only 1 month. Before that it was for the state of SC after they had a pretty big data breach and they were trying to get their security program in order.

Went through two rounds of interviews for that one and still didn't get it. At the time dude said I was the best candidate (I got a lot of AD Security experience) but the hiring manager told me because of how big the breach was he was gonna move very slow and wasn't hiring anyone until they found the absolutely perfect candidate.

I've heard of dudes bringing in 500k/yr though as legit consultants. Never spoke to anyone making that kinda bread personally, but I'd imagine if you run in the right circles it's definitely possible.

after I just got my latest network certification

I'm debating on accepting a pay raise I would have to work a lil harder for 50 more racks a year

But at this stage in my life I feel like I'm ready to retire, I don't NEED an extra 50 racks for 20 more minutes of work each day :manny:

decisions like this give me a headache :snoop:

This dude actually braggin about 200k :gotdamnbreh: while still working for someone else :sadbabybreh:

Wait till you hit 7 figures and see how swift Uncle Sam packs up and relocates in ya anal canal...:wiz:

Better incorporate your llc and borrow some cash before it's too late:pharrell:
