I just don't think one is 'more musical' than the other. Both are musical.

Besides, "Stakes Is High" is not that great of a beat, especially for Dilla. And it doesn't match up with Pete Rock's best.

I agree with your first point about their respective "musicality"


but that Stakes is High album is a personal GOAT for me, including the title track.

I put Dilla over Madlib anyday but than i haven't really gave Madlib a chance like i did Dilla.
I heard beats from Madlib in the past that where mixed so shytty it made me not give it a second chance while Dilla had me amazed when i first heard Fantastic Vol. 2.

I need someone to put me onto Madlib. While I think some of his work on Madvillainy was flat out genius (Accordion, Strange Ways, Rhinestone Cowboy, Fancy Clown and ALL CAPS), I've had a hard time getting into his other shyt.

The only other beat of his that I like is "Infinity". I've heard Jaylib and the first third of The Unseen (had to turn that shyt off)
