This episode was better for me in regards to character development and getting me vested in some of them. I am now super interested in trying to find a TLDR pod or video about how Stephen King’s worlds connect (cuz I sure don’t ain’t reading all his stuff nor rewatching all the films based on his works)

I watched one of those super long "Heavy Spoilers" videos on youtube. They went on and on and on for a surprising amount of time just talking about all the easter eggs in the opening credits.

If Mike Hanlon was one of the kids who confronted Pennywise in 1958, how are the Hanlons we see 4 yrs later related to him?

Book Mike - 50’s Kid, adult in the 80’s
Movie Mike - 80’s kid,adult in the 10’s
Army Hanlon is his grandfather who raised him (in the movies his parents died early, in the book they raised him).
Kid Hanlon is Mike’s father and is dommed to die horribly with his wife…burned in a club or something.

Cornfields, cows, & an one stoplight town

These are the Easter eggs I’ve seen so far:
1. dikk Halloran- The Shining
2. Red car seen in last episode- possibly Christine
3. Cockadoodie was said by one of the dead kids- Misery’s Annie uses this word as a swear
4. Indigenous people lurking in the woods watching the military- Pet Semetary. They might be digging too close to ancient burial ground
5. Reference to Shawshank prison- Shawshank Redemption

Easter Eggs I’m waiting for/looking forward to:
1. More Pet Semetary
2. The TommyKnockers
3. Needful Things

It would also be cool to see a reference to neighboring King towns like Salem’s Lot and the town Carrie destroyed.

They burned in what is known as the Black Spot Fire, a racially motivated arson that killed dozens of Black Derry residents. The show is doing a great job of building up to this incident. You can feel a constant thread of racial tension that keeps ramping up.

Was anyone else laughing during the early car scene? :russ:Shyt went left out of the blue. Matty's facial expressions when the older girl was trying to make him smell the liver

I dunno, aside from the first tower shot with the kids in it talking I thought the CGI looked fine. In that scene the lighting was off.

I think a bigger problem is the art direction for the monsters. A lot of that sh*t looks kinda "Wednesday"-esque. I mean the first ep and the two movies, haven't watched the 2nd ep yet.

I think the same CGI with better creature designs would solve a lot of the issues people have with it.

Over all I really liked the first ep though.

The IT part 1 & 2 did Mike dirty.

It was said to be a house fire in IT part 1.
I'm assuming the Black Spot is where the soldiers went after the bar scene in episode two
