That car ride was genuinely terrifying. The way the kid checked out of the ordeal was so realistic.

But yeah in the books the clown is like It’s base form. When you’re getting killed he’s almost always transformed and usually to goofy shyt King thought was scary to a 10 year old.

It smashing through a whole squad was new though lol/

That might have been my favorite part of the episode. Pennywise is almost like a dog. The more fear you show, the more excited/aggressive the dog gets. For a split second, that kid went into his safe zone with the pacifier. The family got quiet and just stared at him. I know the kid still got killed, but I interpreted that quick scene as annoyance from Pennywise and thinking, "Alright, the food ain't getting any more seasoning, might as well feast."

Most of the kid actors in the first episode could've acted better, but I'll give them some slack because they're kids. Also, for most of them, this is either their first acting role or their biggest.

I'll see how the acting and story progress further on into the season.

They probably didn't put much effort into casting the kids, seeing as most got murked out anyway. Nice first episode, better than I expected.

The opening car ride switch up got me. Just thought the daughter was a weirdo. The spelling game was a cool element.

The skin lamp actually got me. I thought something was going to be in the room itself.

The Music Man transition got me. Didn’t expect to see the kid in it.

The Jewish kid was the only one I could see him “acting” cause he was talking through his teeth in one scene but in others he was pretty good. I know King gotta a hard on for that 50-60s setting so the other kid actors didn’t bother me.

Really liked it overall.
