:ehh:
The premiere episode garnered 5.7 million viewers within three days of viewing the U.S., according to multiplatform viewing data across HBO and HBO Max. This gave “It: Welcome to Derry” the third most-watched series debut on HBO Max, behind only “Game of Thrones” spinoff “House of the Dragon” and “The Last of Us.”

Episode 1 of “It: Welcome to Derry” drummed up a bigger audience than its HBO Sunday night predecessor “Task,” which debuted to 3.1 million viewers and closed out its seven-episode run with 4 million viewers tuning in for its finale, both within three days of viewing.

haven't read the thread, haven't seen a single review, but just gotta ask, wtf was that? shyt sucked. the casting between this and the kids in the movie was night and day, and the flying baby thing was terrible. pretty awful start

For y’all that have read the book, where we going with the military shyt? I admit, I probably need to rewatch the pilot as I tuned out those scenes, was feeling stranger thing’ish

This is all original, but based on Mike’s story and family history that was left out of the movies.

Mike Hanlon’s dad was in the Army when it was segregated. The black soldiers started a night club called “the black spot”. One day cac’s came to ruin shyt and started a fire. There were so many people inside that everybody blocked the door in a panic.

Some were able to get out, but Mike’s dad saw an impossibly giant bird swooping down from the sky and snatching up into the night, during the panic. The bird had subtle pennywise features.

Because the movies were set in the 80’s instead of the books’s 50’s, the show fills in the blanks by using the Hanlon family as an anchor to explore some other book stories and new ideas involving Derry and Pennywise.

This show makes me wish someone like Mike Flannagan would take over King's shyt and make a universe of connected shyt. Tvs and Movies. Never read any of the books but always heard/read how all the shyt is connected and characters from other shyt pop up into random shyt.
