he’s been dramatically cutting back on road games for years. Gonna be 86 in July. I think he also has a long drive from his house in New Jersey & it’s just hitting him that it’s too taxing to ask anymore

Yeah, my initial reaction was it must be a health scare that suddenly shifted things but Kay just said on the radio that John told him last week and emphasized it's not about health. He just started the season and two weeks in realized at 86 he doesn't have it in him anymore to go to the ballpark and deal with that grind.
